AMAZING GRACE VOnce upon a timein a land far away, A man sat in chains for his crime he must pay. He sat in his cell a tear in his eye, The judge found him guilty and now he would die. V It was no accident that he was there, He went to trial and he knew it was fair. Deep dark and cold was that hole where he lay, He prayed for light just one tiny ray. V The man had lost hope when he heard the key in the door, He thought this must be it, as he rose up from the floor. The guard said you are free as he took the chains off his wrist, Go home to your family, you've surely been missed. He stood there amazed as he heard those words spoke, This can't be true it must be a joke. The jailer explained how the judge had shown grace By sending his own son to die in his place. V But, his son was innocent, so how could this be? I'm the one guilty they should have killed me! You may think that this is a tale but I know it's true' God sent His son Jesus to die for me and for you. V It should have been us that hung on that cross, But God loves us so that He took the loss. If you don't believe me read John 3:16 It's the most amazing grace that I've ever seen. In God's very own words the message is clear, He gave up His Son cause He holds us so dear.
